Hi Reader,
How are you doing? I am so grateful that you are with me on my journey as an artst, a teacher, a person!
Yesterday was Mother's Day. Let me start by saying that I want to hold up all you Moms! You pour yourselves out and the work is NEVER done! I know!
Yesterday was, in fact, a really wonderful day. I am a mom of twins and my kids both graduated college this last month, (Proud Mama month!) were both home with me and my husband!
It could have been a REALLY hard day because my mother in law, Gisela Kinscheck passed away last week. It was hard. I know it was hard for Ralph. I loved her dearly. She was an incredibly strong, vibrant, generous woman. She went to meet Jesus Peacefully in her sleep shortly before her 99th birthday. She lived through WWII as a teenager... READ MORE
3 years ago I lost my own Mom, too... I was so close to my Mom. My Mom loved flowers of all kinds! The blooming trees and tulips everywhere right now would have filled her with joy! I think of her when I take a walk in my neighborhoodd.
Are you missing your Mom? Reply and tell me about her.
The next song I am releasing is called "Time to Call Mom."
I wrote it while my Mom was still alive and sang it at mother's day services and shows and then ended up singing it at her memorial.
More on the release coming soon.
If you still have a Mom in your life... CALL her!
Yesterday, though, was a wonderful day. It started with leading worship at church with my awesome husband Ralph on keys and my son Caleb singing with the team! I even got to lead the children singing an adorable song "When God Made you My Mother" ! Perfect song for Mother's Day!
Then we shared memories about my mother-in- law Gisela at lunch before heading off to play a marvelous block party gig with Class6 Band! Ralphy even got to sit in on keys and play "Carry On Wayward Son" with me!
We wound the day up with Sichuan Gormet take out and 6 Crowns at home, brain-storminig on an upcoming trip with my daughter and finally watching an episode of "David" with my hubby. I went to bed feeling happy and at peace. God is SO good!
It could have been a sad emotional day... God made it into a joyful day of celebration. I hope your Mother's Day was as lovely. But even if it wasn't, may you still find that peace and joy in the Lord soon!
